Man I am missing some home cooked meals right about now.

I enjoy Korean foods and snacks, but some sit down family dinners would be nice. There are all types of food in the city, if you know where to look, or are willing to take a long metro ride. I have had some exceptional Italian pasta dishes, awesome burgers, and below par Mexican food. If anyone is willing to fly out and cook up some linguine and clam sauce, fried chicken tenders or chicken pot pie, it would be welcome.

Hope all is well at home, miss you all!

  1. Hey Dude, I feel for you! I remember how good home cooked tasted when I got back to the states. Sound like it's time for another care package but I don't think linguine and clam sauce will be on the menu. :-(
But tell me how was New Year's? Did you go clubbing? Since the Korean New Year is in Feb do they do anything special on Dec 31st?
What's next for your students this year?
I'm sure you've heard but CT got hit with a record snowfall last week. There is 24" still on the ground here and more weather due on Wed.
What's the political situation around there now. Has the North-South rhetoric calmed down? Of course we don't hear about it around here any more. Well, take care and keep the blogs coming.

  2. Yes December 31st is just as a big deal here as at home. I went clubbing at one of our usual places in Gangnam. It was totally packed, people basically pouring out the doors but a really good vibe. Hard to navigate around but everyone was there to have a good time.
Well about half of our students, of of my 2 morning classes, will graduate on Feb 23rd. They will be done with the morning program here and start elementary school in march. Some of the students will continue here at Wonderland, but they will be in afternoon classes instead.
At work everything we do is aimed at this graduation. We are teaching regular lessons, but also practicing a play they will perform. The play includes memorizing lines, small amounts of actual acting and learning at least one song. It will be hectic times but I am sure it will be fun to watch when all is said and done.

The situation with North Korea has calmed down, no real new problems at the moment. Hopefully everything stays as is and nothing new arises.

Weather note..it is cold, no snow, just a concrete winter chamber!
