Seoraksan National Park

Welcome to Seoraksan National Park.

This park is located just outside the city of Sokcho. Christophe and I made our way here on our first full day in the city. When you arrive at the park, not 5mins into your hike you are greeted by this bronze Buddha. It stands something like 17meters high. A very impressive entrance to this excellent park.

This next picture is me giving my all trying to shake Heundeulbawi, the shaking rock. Apparently people have been trying to push over this rock for hundreds of years but only manage to give it a little shake. I did no better.

Heundeulbawi is maybe half an hour up the trail to the summit of Ulsanbawi. In the same area there is another Buddha temple. This one is very interesting because it is under/ inside the mountain with a massive natural rock ceiling.

Here in the 3rd picture we have a typical temple. Not much information here, just cool designs to check out. Always cool color schemes going on with these places.

And finally the looming steps to the summit of Ulsanbawi. Those of you who fear heights, or don't feel like climbing up a 1,000 metal steep steps, stay away. The path to the top was not short, and not easy. However there are steps almost the whole way so it can be done.
