Wow...
One of the most beautiful places we went in Vietnam was here, Suoi Tien, or Fairy Stream. In the first picture here you can see the lush bamboo forest and the bright red sand dunes separated by the warm and shallow stream. It was right off the main road and such a pleasant surprise. We didn't do much research prior to heading out on this tour. It starts off by being hassled by the local kids to give you a tour for a dollar or two. Then the walk up the warm calm stream. Passing an ostrich farm in the middle of the bamboo jungle. (pictures available if you feel like stopping in)
Once you hike up the steep sandy hill, this is the view from the top. I think this picture explains why so many people make this trip to Mui Ne, and hike up the dunes.
The middle picture in Lang chai, a fishing village a little farther down the road. These are the local fisheries and the unique boats they use. Also the opposite view looking into the bay, there must have been hundreds of colorful boast anchored just off shore.
The downfall of this place was the filth and smell. Wow. Very interesting but so dirty and smelly that this was a short visit.
We visited some much larger sand dunes later in the tour...
